” BUILD TRADITIONS OF FAMILY VACATIONS , TRIPS AND OUTINGS. THESE MEMORIES WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN BY YOUR CHILDREN ” – EZRA TAFT BENSON.

The last family trip we went to was in 2018 to Thailand thanks to the pandemic. Fast forward to 2023 we needed a week of fun, sun and food, so we chose Cyprus Paphos as the destination. We visited Cyprus in August and it was very hot and busy. The food was amazing and beaches really stunning. We did not do a lot of sightseeing or exploring but did visit local area late afternoons due to heat. We spent the whole week by the pool and stuffing ourselves with yummy foods. It was exactly what we needed as a family and during school break.

How did we get there:

We flew into Cyprus from Bristol airport with Easy Jet and flew back to Bristol with TUI. My husband had sorted our flights and it was a bit of a struggle due to school holidays.

Where did we stay:

We stayed at the 5 star Atlantica Mare Village Paphos and we opted for a B&B rather than all inclusive. Our stay did not start well, after checking in we were taken to our room where we found a man fixing the door which ended up with 2 other men coming to assist and took them 3 hours. We were not happy with this since we have been travelling since 3am and the children were tired. 2 hours into the door fixing I had complained to the manager as I felt the men were getting nowhere and unfortunately for us the hotel was fully booked and we could not be moved to a different room. The manager did however comp our dinner for that night to apologise for the inconvenience.

Beautiful Family Room with stunning seaviews.

What we did in Cyprus:

As I mentioned on this titled of this blog, we had a lazy week. We mainly enjoyed the sun and what the hotel had to offer especially the spa. I read books and enjoyed spa treatments which I did with my daughter. We also took some afternoon and evening walks to explore the local area. We ate all our dinners outside the hotel to give us a chance to sample the local foods and mingle with the locals. The two restaurants that we visited and highly recommend were Sonny’s and Sunset Breeze both in Kissonerga. Both restaurants served delicious food between the ranges of £7-£22 with brilliant service.

It was definitely a much needed family trip where we got time to spend as family and plan our next family holiday. It was the best luxury holiday filled with beautiful scenery and surroundings that the kids still talk about today.
