Festive season and Christmas period can take a toll on everyone. That was the case with me on the start of the year. My sister and I decided to book a mini vacay to Brussels, a beautiful city of Belgium. Not only is Belgium home of the EU it also has a great medieval towns, historical site and beautiful architecture. This was a last minute decision. We wanted a cost effective trip without compromising our love for comfort and luxury.
How we got there:
We used the Eurostar train from London. It was just over 2 hours and we we booked we were very luck they were running a special of £29 one way deals.
Where we stayed:
We stayed at Motel One Hotel which fitted well with our budget and having all the beauty of Brussels in their doorstep.
Things to do in Brussels:
There is so much to do in Brussels and below I have listed the 10 things I saw while I was there.
- Wander Parc du Cinquantenaire
- Notre Dome
- The Royal Palace
- European Parliament
- Galeries Royales Saint- Hubert
- Drinks at Delirium
- Petit Sablon
- Manneken Pis and Jeanneke Pis
- Atomium
- The Palace of Justice
Eating Out:
You have a lot of options on what to eat when you are in Brussels and that all depends on what your palate fancies. Meals at cafes and restaurants cost around ten euros up to twenty euros. For sandwiches, pastries and cakes try Paul bakery. For very healthy and tasty dishes visit Sowl Restaurant where you can create your own super bowl. Dinner with ambience the Beat restaurant will be right up your alley.
