I had just recently returned from visiting Egypt country 19 of 195 and nothing prepared me for what I experienced in Egypt. I did a lot of research on Egypt before my trip. A lot of blogs and articles have both positive and negative things to say about visiting Egypt. I went to Egypt with an open mind as I wanted to experience everything for myself. I came back with a lot of frustration and a bad taste in my mouth. Egypt is the first country that I have visited and came back saying I have no intentions of going back. I explore Sharm El Sheik and Cairo.

How did I get there:
I flew from with Wiz Air from Gatwick Aiport to Sharm El Sheik. If you are stying in Sharm El Sheik and from the UK you do not require visa. But if you are planning to explore other cities like Cairo you will need to obtain your visa at the airport on arrival from the bank. It will cost you $25 USD. For some reason they accept only USD and can get very funny when you offer them Egyptian pounds, even declining them in other places.
Where did I stay:
I was in Egypt for a week. 6 nights and 7 days and was joined by a traveller friend of mine from South Africa. We stayed in two different resorts. For the first three days we stayed at Jaz Fanara Resort followed by Cleopatra Adult Only Resort.
What we did in Egypt:
We spend our days in Sharm El Sheikh exploring the local area and visited markets and Al-Sahaba Mosque. Sharm El Sheikh is more relaxed and gives the best beach vacation vibes with its beautiful coral reef and stunning beaches. You can also explore and enjoy the dessert safari tours and scuba diving. At night you can visit the famous Farsha Cafe which gives Aladdin vibes. On day 6 I took a separate tour to Cairo. This was booked from a company called Sun International for £235 which included return flights, lunch and tours. I highly recommend the company. While in Cairo I visited the Egyptian museum, took the Nile river cruise, visited the Oasis oils , the Pyramids of Giza (the only thing I enjoyed in this whole trip) and the Papyrus Institution.
Besides enjoying the sights of Pyramids of Giza I did not enjoy my day in Cairo. When I travel to any country I look forward to 3 main things, the people, culture (history) and food. In my experience in Egypt the food was tasteless, people were rude, aggressive and unfriendly but I did find their history interesting. The whole experience in Cairo made me feel like its culture to exploit tourists with the over pricing of everything and demanding for tips. When you do not give them tips they become horrible to you. If I am honest by day 4 I was ready to return home. I do not have much positive to say about Egypt and in my whole stay I felt unsafe, and for someone who have travelled to many countries solo, it was the first time I felt this way.
